I love this place... trail is challenging enough to break a sweat but easy enough for the family.

This is a hidden gem of the area! I recently discovered this hike and am so happy I did! It is the most well-marked trail I have seen in CT. The trail is in great condition and hasn't been crowded any time I've gone. I would agree its a moderate hike as there are rocks and potentially tricky areas for people not so sure-footed. If you do the red to long blue loop it takes about an hour at a decent pace.

There are many trails, some moderate...some easy. I had two dogs on leash...and they pulled up and down hills. trails were dry, had some ice ..saw one biker.

The hike was moderate if not any challenge at all to intermediate hikers. The mine was cool, just a hole in the ground though. Nice trail for a nice blue sky day. Nice place to find large Connecticut Pitch Pines! Mostly lolly-gagged through the trail and sped my pace up the last 1/2 on the trail. All of the trail was marked properly, the maps at intersections of different paths were helpful (the “you are here” types of maps). Overall very clean trails. It’s a great and secluded hike, very few peeps in the colder months! Enjoy!

Well marked, good foothills. 0 human interaction at 8:30 am until 9:40 am on 3/4/20 when the temp was 50 degrees. trails were wet from recent rain. I did the whole red trail today instead of the usual blue and i really liked it.

Fun walk with some interesting features. Amazingly quiet considering how close to civilization you are. Many side trails to explore, I will go back again

I am writing you to say that I recently explored the Oswegatchie Hills Nature Preserve and found it to be absolutely beautiful. The trails were well kept and this parcel of land is truly a gem of the area. I am not too familiar with this area of the state as I reside in Manchester, but this preserve has given me a new appreciation for the natural beauty of this area. Thank you to all the volunteers past, present, and future who worked to secure this land, blaze the trails, and continue to work to protect this excellent piece of property from further development and encroachment. Your work and effort does not go unappreciated. Best wishes, Peter Z, RN

Wonderful hike. Quiet, good combination of steep climbs and flat surface. I took 2 dogs and they managed just fine.

This is an awesome trail for where it’s located! Rocks, caves, pond, even some hills. Definitely recommend

We did the blue to red trails with side track to a cave and quartz pit. Trail had pretty pond views and a couple of small brook crossings. I enjoyed it because it was pretty rocky with big flat rocks to walk on in places. Very well marked trails. No real breathtaking views but a nice short hike. Easy side of moderate.

This is one of my favorite trails. Amazing scenery, very well marked and maintained, and at the trailhead they even had paper maps available with info about the areas history. Overall, a great experience!

Nice trail. Just enough terrain variance to keep it interesting, but not challenging, in my opinion. No real "views", but pretty scenic trail. We'll be back.
